The Franklin Civil War Round Table’s current program of speakers for 2008 include:
- July 13th - Thomas Forehand-author and RE Lee impersonator.
Forehand has written a book called Robert E. Lee’s Softer Side - August 10th – Kraig McNutt, a Franklin-resident, will discuss the stories behind the Tennessee Confederate soldiers buried at McGavock Cemetery. McNutt publishes the Battle of Franklin web site.
- September 14th – Greg Wade
- October 17th-18th a special event (i.e., dinner, book-signing, and tour) with nationally known historian and author Dr. Steven E. Woodworth.
- November 9th – Michelle Place, Carnton guide, will talk about stories of Those Left Behind.
- December 14th – Maury County resident and author/editor, Ruth Hill McCallister will talk about her ‘new book‘ Sam R. Watkins Co.’Aytch’ Maury Grays, First Tennessee Regiment Or, A Side Show of the Big Show. She is a direct descendant of Pvt Sam Watkins.
The FCWRT meets at the Williamson County Public Library. on the second Sunday of the month at 3 p.m. Map for directions.
